Adieu 2600

L to R: Morrison, Densmore, Manzarek, and Krie...Image via WikipediaWell, this is in fact my last blog for 2600. It's been quite a learning experience! I've learned so many new applications and I know that I'll use all of them in the future both at home and at work. I'm looking forward to my few weeks break before the Fall semester. I really really need it! I'm not sure where or if we're supposed to post our URL's. Everyone seems to think that we post them on the DB's but I'm not sure if that's correct. I did email mine to Dr. Tomer but he never let me know if he recieved the email or not so I'm not sure what is going on there. Why should the last assignment be any different from all of the rest? :)
So I guess I'll post them here AGAIN!

This is my main page that will lead you to both Thoreau Fragments and my portfolio. The external style sheet file is included in my portfolio.
So, as Jim Morrison and The Doors said, "this is the end, bew-ti-ful friend, the end".
It's been a blast!

To Blog or Not to Blog

As I wrap up my blogs for this course I ask myself if I will continue to blog. I've really enjoyed talking about the things that I've learned in 2600 so I guess I could still be persuaded to dabble in a little online journaling. I suppose if I remember to do it I will. I've gotten into the 3 times per week habit so it shouldn't be too hard. There is alot going on in the Christensen household in the next couple of weeks so I'll have alot to gripe about I'm sure.
My son Andrew is turning 13 next week so we're celebrating at Hershey Park, my daughter Emma is going to overnight Girl Scout camp, and our beach vacation to Ocean City NJ is quickly approaching so my babbling will be profuse.
My apologies in advance.

Queen of Runescape

Players engaging in player versus player comba...Image via WikipediaOur library was lucky enough to be able to purchase 6 laptops that can be used for Teen programming. I decided to try a Runescape program so we'd be able to use them. Tonight was the program and I have to say it went quite well! All of the kids enjoyed playing for two uninterrupted hours and some even stayed to take out books! (gasp!) I guess this was a successful program! Yippee!
I'm trying to come up with some other ideas to be able to use the laptops. Any suggestions??

May the Force be with you

To celebrate the opening of the Clone Wars animated movie here's a little IT humor at Star Wars' expense. It's pretty corny, but it has a storm trooper in it so how bad can it be??
It takes a little bit to load for some reason so have some patience ok?

Just Chillin at Best Buy

Best Buy Co., Inc.Image via WikipediaI've been trying to think of things to blog about that have a connection to this class and it's been pretty hard to do in the past few days. Don't get me wrong, I've learned alot of cool stuff in this class but I'm not going to be using it each and every day. I did have to fix my portfolio a little bit the other day because I forgot all about my Jing video! (as if I ever could!) I uploaded that to my site so once again I'm just chillin with this class while I finish up my other one.
Went to Best Buy tonight with my son and he checked out some digital cameras that he might be interested in for his big 1-3 bday. We also played with the Macs. Boy are they sweet! One day when I win the lottery! For now, I'll plug away on my conveniently priced Dell!
One thing did happen connected to this course this evening though! My husband was doing some work on his laptop and he told me that he used del.icio.us for the first time! I was so proud! I then welcomed him to the 21st century! He loves having a future librarian as a wife! :)

2 Da Beach

Title screen from a short promotional video fo...Image via WikipediaSince I'm done with the assignments I guess I'll just blog about what I've been doing lately! How exciting! Last night we walked around a bunch of stores looking at circulating fans and hard drives for my son's computer. He is turning 13 in a few weeks and he needs a new computer very badly. He loves The Sims pc game and there are so many expansion packs to each game that it slows down his poor old computer. It's time for an upgrade!
Today, we're going to the beach for the day! Ah, life is good!
